Malpua is a type of pancake served as a dessert or snack. It is a recipe from the Indian subcontinent popular in India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. It is an easy, quick recipe suitable for breakfast and other delicious dishes.
Ingredients for the Pancake(Malpua):
- All-Purpose Flour(Maida) - 200 grams
- Coconut milk - 400 grams
- A grated coconut-2cup
- Sugar - 300 grams
- Cream(Ghee) - 2 tbsp
- Baking powder - half a teaspoon,
- Pistachio - 50 grams
- Some water
Method of the Pancake(Malpua):
- Mix flour, coconut milk( use 1/2 part of it), baking powder in a bowl, and mix well.
- Prepare a batter by adding the rest of the coconut milk little by little kneading the flour.
- To prepare the thin syrup, add sugar and half a glass of water to the vessel, and boil for 4 to 5 minutes. Add more water if needed to keep syrup thin during boiling. Let it be on the low flame to remain warm.
- Put the lump of the cream on a heated pan. Pour the batter moving a spoon in a circular motion, and spread evenly with a large spoon. Keep adding the cream while frying other pancakes(Malpua) if needed. Flip the Malpua several times to cook well on both sides.
- Emerge all the Malpua in the warm syrup for soaking for about 10-12 minutes.
- Spread grated coconut on a large plate, then place the Malpua on it, garnish with coconut crush and pistachios granules.
