Gooseberries, in Indian families, are used after fermenting or making a sweet jam. Indian gooseberries are bitter, so occasionally, fermentation makes them tastier and enhances their nutrient value.

Gooseberries contain maximum vitamin C, and with Curry leaf, suitable to make an energetic juice in winter.

Ingredients for gooseberry(amala) juice:

  • Fermented Indian gooseberry(Amala)- 2 fruits.     
  • Turmeric powder-1/4tsp (optional).
  • Ginger extracts-1tsp.
  • Some coriander and mint leaves.
  • Curry leaf-2~3 leaves.
  • Rock salt as required.
  • Honey- 2 tsp.

Method of gooseberry(amala) juice:

  1. Wash the gooseberries with the water, make several cuts, and keep them in the salt for two days to ferment.
  2. Cut the fermented gooseberries and bay leaf into small pieces.
  3. Washing with lukewarm water, put all the ingredients, as listed above, in the mixer and grind them.
  4. Strain in a glass and garnish with coriander and mint leaves.

The energy drink of gooseberry with Curry leaf is ready.
