Shufta is the famous Kashmiri sweet often prepared on holy events of Kashmiri Pandit Community, though it is a favorite to all Kashmiri people, which contains dry fruits.
Contents For Shufta:
- Cream (Ghee) - a cup.
- Butter 2 tsp
- Sugar - 200 grams.
- Medium size Paneer Cubes - 250 grams.
- Almonds - 150 grams.
- Apricot - 25 grams.
- Medium Cuts Of Dried Dates - 25 grams.
- Raisins - 50 grams.
- Coconut (pieces) - 100 grams.
- Bay leaf - 4.
- Dry Ginger Powder - 1/4 tsp.
- Dill - 50 grams.
- Green Cardamom - 6.
- Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp.
- Cinnamon powder - 1/4 tsp.
- Water as per need.
- Pinch of Salt or less.
Method Of Shufta:
Cut the apricots, Dried Dates, and coconuts into small pieces. Heat a large spoonful of ghee in a pan, and saute the paneer cuts until they get golden brown, and take out in a bowl. Add a small spoonful of butter to a pan and fry the bay leaf, pepper powder, and crushed green cardamom. Add two and a half cups of water, cinnamon powder, sugar, Dry Ginger Powder, and salt and boil for a few minutes; then add the paneer, almonds cuts, Dried Dates, apricots, and raisins for two more minutes.
After turning off the gas, leave it on the stove for 3-4 minutes.
The Kashmir Sweet Shufta is ready. Serve hot.
