How to make delicious farali paneer patis with a crispy potato crust|

Patis or Pattice or Buff Vada, stuffed potato balls, popular in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and other states, is a savory snack that originated in Gujarat, India. It is made of unbleached flour made from soft wheat filled with spiced fillers of mashed potatoes and peas.

Farali paneer patis are crispy, delicious snacks made with grated paneer, boiled potatoes, arrowroot flour, and spices. They are perfect for fasting days or as a tea-time snack.

Ingredients for farali patis:

  • 1.5 cup grated paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 2 medium-boiled potatoes, peeled and mashed
  • 1 cup arrowroot flour (or Singhare ka atta)
  • 1 tbsp grated coconut.
  • 1 tsp dry grape(Kismis)
  • 1 tsp cashew pieces
  • 1 tsp Dry mango powder (Aamchoor powder)
  • 1 tsp paste of ginger and green chili each.
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp chaat masala
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Method of farali patis:

  1. Take all the above-listed ingredients except Oil(obviously) in a large bowl, and mix together and knead well to form a smooth dough. But save 1/2 cup arrowroot flour for later use.
  2. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into balls.
  3. Roll all the balls in the dry arrowroot flour to coat them properly, and put them aside for a while.
  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the patties in batches until golden and crisp on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Shift aa the petis in a plate cover with butter paper.

Serve hot with green chutney or yogurt.️
