Here is an easy and quick recipe for Alu, aka, Potato Tikki with crushed almonds for breakfast.

Ingredients for Potato_Almond_Tikki:

  • Big size potatoes - 3 to 4.
  • Chopped Onion - 2 to 3.
  • Chopped coriander leaves- One cup.
  • Chopped green chilies - 3.
  • salt as per taste.
  • Special Homemade Masala(See here for recipe).
  • Roasted  & crushed Almonds - 6 to 7.
  • Chickpea flour - 2cup.
  • Edible Oil for frying.
  • Some water to wet the palm.

Method of Potato_Almond_Tikki:

  1. First, take 3-4 big size potatoes and wash well with water.
  2. Boil in the water and peel the potato out.
  3. Mash the core of the potatoes and make a paste.
  4. Add crushed almonds, onions, chilies, coriander leaves, readymade spice, salt, and kneed to make a loft.
  5. Wet the palms and make medium size balls of the loft, and press gently to make the shape of the Tikki, aka button.
  6. Add the turmeric powder, garlic paste, readymade spice, and salt, and make a medium-thick batter by adding the water gradually.
  7. Fry with oil on high flame till color turns to a golden brown.
  8. Potato Tikki is ready to eat with various sauces of your choice.
