Fruit Cake for Christmas Festival.

Fruitcake is made with dried fruits, nuts, and spices. It is usually served at weddings and Christmas celebrations.

Ingredients for Fruit Cake:

  • 1 kg of mixed dried fruits of your choice,
  • Juice of 1 orange and lemon,
  • 250 grams of softened butter,
  • 200 grams of light brown sugar,
  • 150 grams of All-purpose flour,
  • 100 grams of chopped almonds, ½ a tsp of baking powder,
  • Two tsp mixed spice,
  • One tsp ground cinnamon,
  • 1/4th tablespoons of ground cloves,
  • One tsp of vanilla extract.

Method of Fruit Cake:

  1. Put the mixed dried fruits, orange and lemon juice,  butter, and sugar in a large pan, and cook over medium heat till a boil for 5 minutes.
  2. Put aside the fruit mixture for a while to get cool down.
  3. Add the all-purpose flour, almonds, baking powder, mixed spice, ground cinnamon, cloves, almonds, and vanilla extract to the fruit mixture and blend.
  4. Put the batter in a greased cake mold and bake at 150 degrees Celsius for 2 hours. Check whether baking properly by pinching the fork?
  5. Let the cake cool down and do icing with white or colorful cream, and set the fruits of your choice to decorate before serving.
