Murmura ka laddu. Among the sweets prepared during the festival of Makar Sankranti, the LAAI is so popular in Bihar State that it use to be prepared in Makar Sankranti festivals. Laai is the one type of laddu which uses puffed rice, along with jaggery and fennel. Some crunched ginger can be added to make it tastier. It is a healthy item, especially for kids in the winter season. So on the festival of Makarskranti, which falls in winter, this item is prepared by the Bihari community every year. Ingredients: Jaggery (Gur) - 250 grams. Puffed Rice (known as Muri, Mudhi or Murmura in Hindi) - 125 grams (also can be substituted with roasted Poha, roasted rice or roasted gram). Water - 250 ml. Roasted Fennel Powder - 2 tsp. a small piece of crushed Ginger, or few ginger drops. Lemon juice - 2-3 drops. Method: The method of making Laai is very simple.
